Game Jams

Gamingle is all about meeting new people and making games together, so we strongly encourage you to find a team for the jam!

Need a programmer? An artist? A composer? A writer? Or simply somebody to throw increasingly questionable horror ideas at?

Teams are encouraged, but solo developers are absolutely welcome too. There is no wrong way to take part.

The theme will be revealed right here on Gamingle as soon as the jam starts.

You are free to interpret the theme as literally, loosely, cleverly, or absurdly as you like. Surprise us!

Making Your Game

• Make your game during the jam window. Small pre-made tools, frameworks, templates, and code libraries are fine.
• Teams and solo developers are welcome. Teams are encouraged, but they are not required.
• Any engine and any platform may be used. Browser builds are appreciated where possible because they make games easier for everybody to play.
• Your game should respond to the jam theme. Creative and unusual interpretations are welcome.
• Credit your teammates and any third-party assets.

Assets

• Your own existing asset packs: ✅ Allowed
• Public-domain or appropriately licensed assets: ✅ Allowed, provided that you follow the licence and include any required credits.
• Assets made specifically for the jam: ✅ Absolutely encouraged
• AI-generated assets: ⚠️ Not permitted. Let’s celebrate human creativity for now. AI will get its chance when it takes over the world.

Content and Conduct

• Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, discriminatory content, and personal attacks are not welcome.
• Horror, dark humour, and mature themes are allowed, but games should use appropriate content warnings where necessary.
• Do not submit content that you do not have permission to use.
• Do not submit malicious software, deliberately harmful files, or misleading downloads.
